Reproductions / 16th century Italian Glass and Iron Entrance door

The interior designer on this project asked us to redesign and reproduce this 16th century copy  to suit the large arched entrance of a residence. It was requested by the client for the door to have the arch incorporated in it rather that have a 'fanlight'. Additionally, the door frame lining was made with an angle iron edge to cover the edges of the bricks.

Arched door always represent a challenge. With the tempered glass the door weighed in excess of 250kg. The door handle was handmade and fitted to the lock.

The finish was a black and silver burnished steel look.

Client: Private Residence
