The interior designer on this project asked us to redesign and reproduce this 16th century copy to suit the large arched entrance opening for a residence being renovated. She asked for the door to have the arch incorporated in it rather that have a 'fanlight'. We also made the door frame lining with an angle iron edge to cover the edges of the bricks.
Arched door always represent a challenge. With the tempered glass the door weighed in excess of 250 kilos. The door handle was handmade and fitted to the lock.
The finish was a black and silver burnished steel look.
