Cast Iron Work / Oxford Street Reserve - Cast Iron Capitals

Part of this project for the Oxford St Reserve in Paddington involved the site cleaning of 66 cast iron
capitals and bases, as well as the supporting beams for the reservoir roof.

Working on scaffolding with air-tools fitted with needle guns, the original cast iron work was cleaned
and surface treated. Any damaged pieces were recast in high ductile strength iron and installed.
Applying specialized knowledge in metal coatings, the team finished the castings to a rich brown patina.
