The cast iron vault lights from 100 George St. in the historic Rocks precinct required a trial and error process of researching how to remove the thick glass blocks from the cast iron frames.
The individual glass tiles are tagged to ensure return to original locations.
Any damaged panels were repaired with cast iron welding, followed by sandblasting, painting and re-glazing.
This work was very detailed and took several hundred man hours to complete.
